Published in Sunday Times 8th March 2009. This indian businessman build a 12 storey building to house his entire family. It cost him S$9m. Every storey has an unit with an area of about 221sqm.
Now, our 5-room flat is about 115sqm max. So we can say that this building has 2 5-room flat per storey, total 24 5-room flat.
Rocket Science maths question - S$9m divide by 24 gives you...... S$375,000. So our smart indian friend has actually built a private condo unit that cost S$375k for about 110sqm. What happen to the so-called "heavily subsidised flat" ??? I rest my case.
