豉油鸡！
Decided to cook "豉油鸡" on Sunday. Used whole bottle of "老抽", the taste and color turns out not too bad, will add more sugar the next time. And I badly need a wooden spatula....the steel one is "spoiling" the skin of the chicken when I try to turn on its side.
Forgotten to take a photo before I chop up the chicken thats why there's only half left :-)

New Discoveries on 惠妹
惠妹started teething last week and now both the upper and lower gums have very obvious white-ish objects! The first victim claimed is her cot, there are scratches on the wooden cot similar to those markings left by prisoners to count their days! HAHAHAHA.........
And discover her new tricks this evening.....waving goodbye! :-)

Its All About FOOD
26 March, Thursday-
I was at 昇松 looking for a veggie to cook for tonight's dinner. Walk around the veggie section for a few minutes, saw the usual spinach（波菜），lettuce（生菜），and baby spinach (苋菜苗）these are good for quick meal, just blanch it in boiling water with oil and salt and serve with some oyster sauce, Wa-La! But since I have a bit of time on hand today, I decide on Wong Bok (黄芽白）.
Next I need some meat to go with it, first thing comes to mind is roast pork(烧肉）,but the ones on sale don't really look appetizing, so went over to the pork section and saw this interesting 小猪颈肉. Never seen this before, it has very obvious 'lines' on it.
It turns out not too bad for me, I've cut the meat along the lines instead of across it. It taste good (thanks to my seasoning :-)) the texture is pretty smooth but just a bit too chewy for my wife and MIL. Make a mental note that next time I will cut the meat across the lines! But maybe next time I might venture in Wong Bok with Dried Scallops (干贝扒津白）AGAIN！ HAHA....
27 March, Friday-
Had lunch at Toa Payoh 海洋咖喱鱼头 with my colleagues, 7 of us. Personally I like the Fish Head (of cause), the Otah was very nice, you can really bite into chunks of fish meat inside.The cockles（蚶） taste good too, but would not recommend the 虾酱鸡.
This coffeeshop is packed during lunch time, the funny thing is that there are at least 3 other stalls that are operating inside but I could not see anyone ordering food from them. I have seen this before, at Bt Merah View, there is this Teochew Porridge stall that is so popular during lunch and dinner that I have seen several owners tried to run a ZiChar (煮炒）stall in the same coffeeshop but failed! Its not that the food is not good, it simply because people who wanted to try out other food there just couldn't find a seat!

We have a little gathering at SIL's place, and dinner was at Bedok 416 金隆海鲜. SIL strongly recommend it. Food taste good, not superb, but reasonably decent. The winning factor would be their pricing, check out our menu:
1. 亚叁鱼头
2. 清炒菠菜
3. 虾酱鸡
4. 菜圃豆腐
5. 香槟排骨
6. 咕噜肉
7. 煎蛋
8. 豉汁苦瓜鲨鱼唇
There are 6adults and 3 teenagers, excluding 恩姐&惠妹。
The final bill, including of rice and towels came up to $90. Is that cheap or is that cheap??? HAHA.... Will definitely re-visit this stall.

惠妹的头
今日去fetch惠妹，一抱起佢就闻到D怪味。闻一闻佢个头，哗！咩来驾？臭到渊喔！唔知点形容，又有少少汗缩味，加D奶味，仲有轻微噶“臭臭”味。阿姨话佢“嗯”左两次，系咪第二次无抹干净呢？
无符啦，又要赶返office。就“德”左佢上车，赶返屋企递啤外母先算。
放左工返到屋企，一路食饭，就個心一直“箩箩卵”，唔系了，同佢冲个夜凉好D啦。摆低碗筷，走去煲水。
惠妹第一次冲夜凉就发生系2009年3月19日！

S$9m to build 12 storeys building
Published in Sunday Times 8th March 2009. This indian businessman build a 12 storey building to house his entire family. It cost him S$9m. Every storey has an unit with an area of about 221sqm.
Now, our 5-room flat is about 115sqm max. So we can say that this building has 2 5-room flat per storey, total 24 5-room flat.
Rocket Science maths question - S$9m divide by 24 gives you...... S$375,000. So our smart indian friend has actually built a private condo unit that cost S$375k for about 110sqm. What happen to the so-called "heavily subsidised flat" ??? I rest my case.

A short conversation with 恩姐
After dinner, 恩姐wanted to watch Barney. She came to me and said "Daddy I want Barney" I wasn't too sure whether she was asking for my permission or simply informing me, I guess its the latter.
Told her to choose a disc, and pop the vcd into the player herself. Its still quite amazing watching her change the disc into the player, somehow she knows that you are suppose to put a finger in the hole of the disc to hold it.
20 minutes later, I went to her and tell her its time to 'pong-pong' and this is where I think we had our short conversation;
Me:"恩恩, take shower now, go take your towel."
恩恩:"I want finish Barney first"
Me:"Ok I let you watch a little more"
恩恩:"Ok wait ok?" (she hold up her 5 fingers at me)
It might not have any significance in the above exchange of words, but when 恩姐is only a 2½yrs old gal, its very rare you can actually understand each other for more than 1 sentence.
And yes, 恩姐loves soup!

Hello
I have never kept a diary in my whole life, so it never strikes me that I will start blogging one day. But here I am, starting something that I dunno whether its gonna go on or not. Hopefully this is not the 1st and last posting for this blog.
Ok, lets mark this date 8th March 2009, the beginning of my blog. I was contemplating to get a laptop, gotta ask my 大佬, see got lobang or not. Thought it would be more convenient to carry around. Maybe the upcoming IT show might help.
